Fiscal Cliff

So the Fiscal Cliff is basically the popular name people have put on the problem that the United States is currently having with the taxes and such that are going to be changing in the coming year. This is like the taxes that Obama have placed for the new universal medicare. Also the other taxes with businesses and shifts in taxes that were in place since between 2001-2003. As a country we have pretty much three options none of which are to good but they are all we got to choose from considering the national debt and economy problems we are currently having as a country.
Our three options are as follows:
  • They can let the policy we have now that's scheduled for the beginning of 2013 – which has a number of tax increases and spending cuts that are thought to weigh heavily on growth and possibly drive the economy back into a recession – go into effect. The plus side: the deficit, as a percentage of GDP, would be cut in half.
  • They can totally throw away some or all of the scheduled tax increases and spending cuts, which would add to the deficit and increase the odds that the United States could face a huge problem similar to that which is occurring in Europe. The flip side of this, of course, is that the United States' debt will continue to grow.
  • They could take a middle road, opting for an approach that would talk about the budget problems to a limited extent, but that would have a more modest impact on growth.
So considering we have these three options to choose from, none of which are all good or all bad. We as a country have a big decision to make do we want to go ahead and dig ourselves further into a hole with the economy or do we want to actually try to turn this situation around and get out of this recession. I feel like we should tax those who can afford it more, and have those with less have a lower tax, however EVERYONE will have some form of taxes.

Yana's Manifesto!!!

I believe that the people of our country should have more power to decide what happens in said country. Things such as costs of daily products like: food, water, clothes, soap, etc. Once the cost of everyday items has gone down and people can actually support themselves, I feel that taxes should be the next thing to change. The higher taxes will now be moved to the more wealthy homes and families. Where as the lower taxes will be placed with the middle to lower class families that don't really make a lot of money. The money that is collected from the taxes will partly be used to fix decrepit roads and walkways, however most of the money will go towards schools and education. We as a nation will lower or totally eliminate the taxes that are hurting our schools and library's.
There will also be a nation wide health care to all whom needs it. However this doesn't mean its just a thing to waist money it is going to be set up so that some uncaring people can't just mooch off of the system. The government will also loosen the regulations on what is able to be taught in our schools and how much funding the arts will get at any school. Because the arts are super important. With out having to ability to get schooling we would be in a bit of a problem with the job market. Since as of now the job situation is horrible, there will be a change in the way that jobs are set up and distributed. More jobs will be created and more businesses will open, to create more jobs. The child services will still be basically the same I haven't a clue on how to change that exactly. Other than to give the mother a second chance if needed and earned. There will also be unemployment for those who get layed off or lose their jobs, until they get back on their feet.
I feel that there is too much money currently going into emergency services. Yes, we do need some people in these lines of work, however we don't need a massive amount of police or fire fighters that out number the actual need for them. There will be a budget set aside for the cities and city workers. The military would also already be out of Iraq and Afghanistan, considering we basically now just on a fishing expedition to milk all we can get out of those oil rich countries.

Demand Reflection

The demand term that I am reflecting on is Compliments. In class we have talked about compliments as a good or service that is in conjunction with another good or service. In my life outside of school I encountered this at home. When I was getting ready to hangout with some friends last night I realized I was really hungry and that a peanut butter and jelly sounded amazing. However when I walked to the fridge to see if we had peanut butter, jelly, and bread; I soon found  out that we had lots or peanut butter and lots of jelly, but no bread!!! It caused me to thing of what I could make it with instead and it didn't work with anything else in the house so i couldn't have my PB&J because we didn't have the compliment of bread to make me a sandwich.

My question would be why is it that somethings only work with one thing like PB&J on bread? It tastes funny otherwise...

Demand headlines

(1) Complementary demand- Football game runs out of Ketchup! and Hot dog sales weenie out.

(2) Substitute demand- Cows everywhere get sick, milk drinkers are outraged and sales in soy milk are utterly unbelievable!

(3) Elastic demand- Bananas sales are slipping to the newest apples in the store.

(4) Inelastic demand- Scientists find a strange toxin in the towns drinking water and everyone's response is that they haven't died yet they wont die soon.

blog #3

So in our economy we have a market system set up and in most ways it works for us and in some ways it works ageist us. For my blog today I am on the side of it working for us, this would be because I was born in Russia. In Russia the command economy is very hard to live with considering that there isn't enough housing for everyone. However in the United States we have very good housing and health care. So yes i feel our economy is some time really sucky however it is no where near as bad as it could be. Trust me I would know.
Even though yes our economy has its ups and downs we are still functioning without a civil war within our country or the splitting up of the 50 states which would basically be the worst case scenario. And considering the fact the we haven't done anything of that sort in a very, very long time I think we are heading in the right direction as a whole.

What makes a government decide to become a command or communist system?

Opportunity cost reflection

A time in my life when I had to chose between two or more options was when I had to decide weather to live with my mom or my dad. The opportunity cost for both was great, however living with my dad is a much better plan. My mother and I have had many problems over the course of my life that there is a lot of scaring between her and I. So I decided to go and live with my daddy, the opportunity cost in that is that my mother is being totally crazy and is causing problems in not only my life but in my daddies too. Even though they have been divorced for like seven years.
Now living with my dad I feel that i have made the right choice, regarding where I am living. I have more freedom, trust, and love with my dad. He is not only the better parent he also knows how to handle life, and every day I learn things from him. I know that way deep down that my mother does care for me however she hasn't a clue how to raise me without causing problems. So for this reason of many is why I stay with my daddy. :)
Why is it that certain people are more equip to parent well then others?

Scarcity

http://bostonbiker.org/files/2009/10/trust.jpg

I feel that trust is scarce because now in the world more and more people are fake and will lie to gain things in there life. It is especially important to me because I have recently lost friends that I thought I could trust. However people lied and now there is no trust. Plus without trust one can not build a real relationship.
